Ernie has been in animal control for over 2 months now. The shelter doesn't want to euthanize him because he's such a sweet boy. But they can't hold him forever, and he's not doing well in the shelter. He has a bad case of kennel cough, and is also heartworm positive. If someone is interested in adopting him we can discuss options for his heartworm treatment. Ernie is very loving and loves attention. He's great with other dogs. This adorable 10 week old baby is Rogue, the smallest of the litter of 8 'superhero pups' that we rescued from Dekalb animal control. She's super sweet and affectionate. We got him out and named him Patrick because of his eye color and since he came into the shelter a few days before St Patrick's day. Patty Mayonnaise was brought to a kill shelter when her owners couldn't keep her anymore. The shelter was going to euthanize her immediately, so a good samaritan took her home instead. She's been spayed and vaccinated, and needs a good home. She's good with other dogs, and is very sweet and loving. Avalon's owners moved away and left her behind. She was wandering her neighborhood, and a neighbor thought he was doing the right thing by chaining her up. Problem is, he didn't give her any food, shelter or love. A good samaritan rescued her and now she's safe back inside a house! She's a smaller pitty, only about 45 lbs. She's around 1 year old. Truman is a 10 month old purebred pit bull. He's mainly white, but he has a large brindle patch on one side. He has one brown eye and one blue eye! He's around 55 lbs, and is a short and stocky boy. Truman's owner got rid of him because his landlord found out they had Truman in their apartment, which didn't allow pit bulls. They had him since a pup when they bought him from a breeder. They had his ears cropped at 3 months. When they found out they couldn't keep him they brought him to animal control, where he was going to be euthanized. Rocky is a 2 year old pit bull. He's pure white with one black eye. He's great with other dogs, and very sweet. He had an owner before who didn't treat him that great, and now he's shy around men. He's not aggressive and warms up after a while...but it takes a good 2 weeks for him to trust a man completely. Women and children he loves immediately. He was in a foster home with a 2 year old and did fantastic. He's an excellent watch dog and will bark if someone comes near the house. He loves to snuggle!
